Timirbhu exhibition thrives on the fragmentation of Thai historical literature, “Tribhumikata”. Utilizing linguistic technology, Timirbhu was synthesized to depict the disorderly flat world that emerged after the collapse of the initial three realms in the new world order. The end product is a reimagined phrase and visuals that recount the story with unusual sentence structure and inverted imagery of peculiar objects, some inflated and others diminished, projecting the otherworldliness of the world in the retold tale. Does the installation’s presence amplify the relevance of the ancient text or accentuate its alienation through technology? The exhibition put questions on the validity of the interpretations of history from different vantage points.
