Là, in the Trapeziums at the Northern Chapel in the Temple of the Reclining Buddha,
Moonmanas draws inspiration from historical scriptures, sculptures and drawings
from the reign of King Nangklao (Rama III) concerning foreigners and foreign lands
known by Siamese people in the last century. Nakrob’s video work here
is accompanied by a singing voice from a rearranged major Western opera,
reflecting the Westerners’ views on the East.
